The Best Siem Reap Bars

Feb 13 , 2012

Siem Reap is a small market town in northwestern Cambodia that offers an extensive night life once the sun goes down. While the clubs may be the place to end up, what better than to start the night at a local bar.

Siem Reap is a small, market town in northwestern Cambodia that offers an ample amount of shopping during the day. When the sun goes down however, like most other Asian cities, the city of Siem Reap knows how to party well into the morning hours. Here are the top bars in the entire city of Siem Reap.

Heart Rocks: This bar offers a nice disco experience that offers beer, mixed drinks, and many different types of shots. The party does not really get started until after 10:00, so be sure to arrive late and ready to party well into the night. The Khymer music can get very loud, so be prepared for some noise.

In Touch: One of the many bars located on Pub Street, this place offers live music in the upstairs bar that is provided every night by a Filipino jazz band. The upstairs bar will get packed before midnight by Asian tourists. The bar also serves both Thai and Cambodian food. Be sure to try the Tiger Beer on draft.

Laundry Bar: For those interested in a large music selection, this is the place to go. Choose from more than 25,000 albums and still have the opportunity to have a conversation with friends because the music is not too loud. There are two pool tables to enjoy in this laid back and casual atmosphere.

Mikey's Night Bar: This is one of the most popular spots in all of Siem Reap. There is a full selection of draft beer and spirits on the drink menu. Come early for happy hour and enjoy some frozen margaritas and two cocktails for the price of one. There is also some excellent bar food and snacks.

Miss Wong: This is stylish nightlife at its best. It is not only intimate and quiet, but also has some unique Chinese decor on the inside that is reminiscent of Shanghai nearly 100 years ago. The drink menu is extensive with choices from Germany, Italy, New Zealand, and many local selections.

Silk Garden: For a unique drinking experience in a tropical garden, this is the place to go. The atmosphere is great with the acoustic music and there are live bands a few times a month. There are also plenty of drink selections to choose from here.

Picasso Bar: This is a more futuristic bar that has a stylish and cosmopolitan feel to it. There is a great selection of food on the menu and the signature drink of freshly made Sangria, either red or white can be bought by the glass or pitcher.

The Warehouse: This two-story bar has only been opened for five years and is often filled with locals and tourists, along with expats. The bartenders will create every drink imaginable and the drink menu is very extensive. Move upstairs and get a great view of the Old Market area. The food is a mixture of western and Asian.

After a drink at one of these fun bars, bead out to one of the amazing restaurants in the area.
